As a leader in Plante Moran’s real estate group, I deliver financial and tax expertise to real estate investment trusts (REITs), real estate investment funds, and commercial and multifamily real estate companies, with a focus on managing complex multientity real estate engagements.
I’ve worked diligently throughout my career to develop a deep understanding of my clients’ multifaceted industry and have gained valuable experience advising on issues like deal structures, internal control improvements, and accounting for complex transactions. As a result, my clients turn to me not only to manage their day-to-day needs with the highest quality and service standards but also to work as a trusted partner at critical inflection points.
In addition, I have the privilege of serving clients in the K-12 education group. As part of this team, I previously served as the firm’s K-12 single audit compliance audit team lead. Representing various education clients, I gained diverse experience in areas such as school district accounting and auditing, bond compliance, grants management, and federal compliance.
Looking internally, I’m extremely proud of the level of counsel we provide and the strong industry relationships we’ve established within the real estate REIT/fund practice — and I’m thrilled to be a part of the team that’s helped drive the practice’s rapid growth. We’ve firmly established our expertise within this dynamic space in the process.
I’m honored to represent our firm as a frequent presenter and panel participant at industry events, such as the Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO) annual conference and the Midwest Real Estate News Detroit Commercial Real Estate Summit and Women in Real Estate events. I’m on the 2021–2023 global board of directors for CREW Network as well as the president of CREW’s Detroit chapter. I’m also a member of the MSBO, the AICPA, and the MICPA. I hold a B.S. in accounting and finance from Oakland University.
I’m also the proud mom of two daughters, who keep us busy with competitive swimming. Both have endless imaginations that never cease to bring new adventures.
