Plante Moran Financial Advisors (the firm) has developed a business continuity plan (the plan or our plan) on how we will respond to events that significantly disrupt our business. Since the timing and impact of disasters and disruptions is unpredictable, we’ll have to be flexible in responding to actual disruptive events should they occur. With this in mind, we’re providing you with our plan on how we will continue to conduct business and provide customer service.
Contacting us — If after a significant business disruption you can’t contact us as normally at our main number in Southfield, Mich., (248-352-2500), you should call our alternative number (269-567-4500), or go to our website plantemoran.com/wealthmanagement for additional contact information.
Our business continuity plan — In the event of a significant business disruption, our firm, staff, and resources are prepared, and able to work remotely, to ensure ongoing service to our clients.
We plan to quickly recover and resume business operations by safeguarding our employees and property, making a financial and operational assessment, protecting the firm’s books and records, and allowing our personnel to continue to serve client engagements from alternate locations if necessary.
Additionally, the plan addresses: data backup and recovery; all mission-critical systems; alternative communications with clients, employees, and regulators; critical supplier, contractor, and bank impact; regulatory reporting; and assuring our clients of ongoing service with regard to their Plante Moran Financial Advisor services or engagements. In short, our business continuity plan is designed to permit our firm to resume operations as quickly as possible, given the scope and severity of the significant business disruption while continuing to provide excellent customer service.
Varying disruptions — Business disruptions can vary in their scope, regardless of impact size or region, we plan to continue in business as quickly as possible and notify you through this website or via alternative communication. Possible impact scenarios include: only our firm, a single building housing our firm, the business district where our firm is located, the city where we are located, or the whole region. Within each of these areas, the severity of the disruption can also vary from minimal to severe. In a disruption to only our firm or a building housing our firm, we will transfer our operations to a local site when needed and expect to recover and resume business within 48 hours. In a disruption affecting our business district, city, or region, our response relies more heavily on other organizations and systems. We will transfer our operations to a site outside of the affected area in an effort to recover and resume business; however, this recovery objective may be negatively affected by the unavailability of external resources and circumstances beyond our control.
