As the leader of the machinery and equipment valuation team, we value machinery and equipment (fixed assets or personal property) for financial reporting, due diligence support, tax matters, dispute litigation, residual values, collateral financing, and insurable replacement cost valuation.
While most of my clients are private equity groups and manufacturers, I work across a wide variety of industries, including automotive; metal recycling; chemicals; printing; construction and mining machinery; consumer products manufacturing; pharmaceuticals; electronic semiconductor; entertainment; oil and gas; high-tech; machine tools; mining; plastics and resins; transportation; rail; and power generation.
I was initially attracted to this career for the opportunity to see how things are made in different industries and to have the opportunity to travel around the country — and occasionally the world. With 15 years’ experience in the industry, I consider my greatest accomplishment to be joining this firm to launch the machinery and equipment valuation practice.
I’m a member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) and sit on their Machinery & Technical Specialties Discipline Committee. I earned my B.S in economics from Illinois State University.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy traveling, following Chicago sports, seeing live music, playing video games with my kids, and collecting sports cards. I spend most of my free time with my wife, Emily, and two kids, Oliver and Benjamin.
