People are surprised to learn that I met my husband at 16 years old. We were friends for a few years, dated for a few years, and have been married 27 years. If I could turn back the clock, I would do it again. I’m lucky to have found him when I was so young.

Experience

As the chief financial officer, I’m responsible for the firm’s financial integrity, providing business insights and supporting the accounting transactional services of the partners and firm.

My team serves the entire firm across all industries, offices, practices areas, and affiliated entities. Our primary interactions are with the leaders of the industries, offices, affiliated entity members, and management team to ensure we’re providing timely and value-added information.

My clients appreciate that I help find a way to say, “Yes.” I find there’s always a path forward even if it might be a bit longer, more complex, and involve a wider group of colleagues. At the end of the day, there isn’t much we can’t accomplish together. At work, I’m known for being a champion of change and a staff developer.

I enjoy challenges that come with a growing firm and providing insights that assist leaders in making informed business decisions. I also enjoy developing staff, including helping managers become better managers to, in turn, develop the bench. I’m always looking for new experiences. Recently, I was nominated for the Hermann Staff Development Award, a very humbling recognition of an area in which I have a great passion.

I have 25 years of experience in this field. The fact that I was able to juggle a successful and rewarding professional career with my personal life is my greatest accomplishment. I’ve been happily married for almost three decades and have two adult children whom I enjoy spending time with — and who still enjoy spending time with their parents.

I’m a member of the MICPA and earned a B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Michigan.

Outside of the office, I love traveling and spending time on a beach or in a boat, including at our lake house on Lake Huron.
