As the leader of the firm’s wealth transfer practice, I educate clients in the who, what, when, and where of transferring their assets in the most tax-efficient manner. High-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners come to me for help with meeting their estate planning, philanthropic, and business transition goals.
The details of wealth management can be complex, but I make them simple and easily digestible. My ultimate goal is to help my clients understand theirs — whether they pertain to business transitions, estate tax reduction strategies, or philanthropic endeavors. I want to feel that I’m having a positive impact and helping someone every day. Small wonder that I’m known around the office for mentoring and coaching!
In addition to educating clients and co-workers, I share my knowledge with the community at large. I belong to the AICPA and the Michigan Association of CPAs. I’m active in the Financial and Estate Planning Council of Metropolitan Detroit, the Karmanos Cancer Institute Planned Giving Advisory Committee, and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Planned Giving Council. I’m also a frequent speaker about business transitions, estate planning and tax reduction strategies, and family education. Among the organizations where I’ve presented are the Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association, the NTEA Executive Leadership Summit, the University of Toledo Center for Family & Privately Held Business, and the Community House of Birmingham Business Symposium.
I work out several times a week, and I’m an avid reader when I get the chance. But I spend most of my free time with my two kids at their many activities. Gymnastics, baseball, football — the list goes on!
I have a B.A. in accounting and an M.B.A from Michigan State University.
