As one of the firm’s more experienced oil and gas audit partners, I represent many high-profile oil and gas clients and local industry organizations. Most of my clients are private equity-owned, upstream oil and gas entities with assets primarily within the United States. I’m also involved in SEC engagements for oil and gas and mining companies. In addition to my audit responsibilities, I also provide financial advisory services, specializing in technical accounting to non-attest clients. Previously, I led our energy accounting solutions (outsourced oil and gas accounting) and currently lead our oil and gas audit practices.
My clients appreciate that I lead from the front and minimize surprises. Around the office, colleagues know me for my commitment to client service and my understanding and involvement in the issues that oil and gas industry faces. Having worked in the industry prior to public accounting, I understand how disrupting last-minute surprises can be. As such, I pride myself in being proactive with my clients in minimizing these.
I belong to the AICPA and the Colorado Society of CPAs (COCPA), and I’ve participated as a speaker and/or moderator at several AICPA Oil and Gas Conferences, as well as the COCPA’s annual SEC conferences. I am involved, or have been active in many professional organizations including the Denver Petroleum Club, treasurer; the Colorado Oil and Gas Association, finance committee member; the Western Energy Alliance, board of advisors; the Anchor Center for Blind Children, treasurer; the Tennyson Center for Children, board member; and the Family Star Montessori, board member.
I received my accounting degree from the University of Colorado Boulder and my master’s degree in finance from the University of Denver.
I enjoy spending time with my daughter, Nicole, and my son, Dylan. My hobbies include skiing, bird-hunting, running/hiking, and traveling.
