I specialize in accounting, financial reporting, and helping clients work through complex business, operational, and technical issues. I provide a wide range of services, including financial statement and benefit plan audits, reviews, compilations, and tax and general business advisory services. My expertise is in the manufacturing and distribution industry, with an emphasis in food and beverage. Many of my clients are also family-owned and private-equity owned manufacturing and distribution companies. Additionally, I also serve many K-12 school districts.
I was attracted to this career because of my passion for helping people, my love of business, and my interest in accounting. My clients appreciate I go the extra mile to ensure they’re taken care of and receive valuable industry insights to help their business. They also appreciate my willingness to discuss any of their concerns and ability to offer practical and thorough solutions. Around the office, I’m known for being light-hearted, social, and a relationship builder. I’m always willing to connect with colleagues to answer questions and help work through issues.
I have more than 15 years of professional experience and am a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. I've presented at many conferences, webinars, audit committee meetings, and industry groups, such as the Michigan School Business Officials Conference for K-12 School Districts, where I spoke about implementing GASB 84.
Additionally, I’m a board member for the Kalamazoo Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, previously serving as co-chair and treasurer. I received my B.A. in accountancy from Hope College.
When I’m not helping clients, I enjoy being outdoors, camping, hunting, golfing, and spending time with my wife and kids, friends, and family.
