MarketWatch: There’s been a huge uptick in online banking

August 7, 2024 / 6 min read

Plante Moran Financial Advisors’ Partner Jaime Eckels recently had a conversation with MarketWatch to discuss the reasons behind the huge uptick in online banking.

Online banking is becoming an increasingly popular tool for managing finances. Banks aren’t only adapting a hybrid model, but many of them are beginning to operate fully online. Online banks are working to become one-stop shops where you can save, invest, and budget all in one place for ease and simplicity. Jaime shared her thoughts on the rise of online banking, especially in younger generations, and some of the benefits they provide for managing finances.

“Many online banks also have tools that can aid in setting financial goals, provide financial literacy and education information, and help young investors with integrated investment features” says Jaime.
