As a real estate tax specialist, I advise my clients on planning concerns related to purchases and sales, partner buy-outs and redemptions, tax and debt structuring, historic tax credits, and other community development incentives. Furthermore, I consult with clients on how to best utilize the opportunity zone incentive. As the firm leader of this investment vehicle, I work with those seeking to create opportunity zone funds and am involved in a coalition to help policymakers shape regulations and legislative corrections. I also regularly speak about the program to associations and at conferences, and was twice named a Top 25 Opportunity Zone Influencer by Opportunity Zone Magazine.
Outside of the real estate realm, I’m a member of our wealth management tax group where I proactively help individual and family office clients minimize their income, estate, and gift taxes.
With more than 20 years of experience at the firm, my clients appreciate that I listen to their challenges and goals, prioritize their concerns, and seek creative solutions. It’s rewarding to have a career where I can balance the technical aspects of taxation and problem-solving with personal client interactions.
I received my B.B.A. in accounting from Michigan State University. I belong to the AICPA, the Michigan Association of CPAs, and the Urban Land Institute.
Outside of the office, I spend a lot of my personal time with my husband, my son, and our Schnoodle. I enjoy gardening, reading, attending college and professional sporting events, and cheering for my son in baseball and soccer.
