I have gained my perspective in consulting with clients through nearly 30 years of experience in the senior care and living sector, and I pride myself on proactively generating relevant, meaningful ideas.
My approach to consulting engagements is oriented toward providing high value. For example, with pandemic related legislation I have served our clients with provider relief fund utilization and employer retention credit expertise. With reimbursement or feasibility projects, I strive to provide timely, high-quality ideas to help our clients determine ways they can achieve their goals, in addition to meeting all compliance requirements. I have also functioned as a chief financial officer, supported clients through acquisitions and sales, and provided financial and strategic consulting services.
It speaks to Plante Moran’s client-centric approach that we build and keep long-term relationships. It means we’re doing right by our clients. I am ‘hands-on’, and passionate about devising creative ways to meet client goals. I believe the long-term professional relationships are just as important with clients as with the members of my team. It’s just as good of a day for me when I help a client as when I help a colleague. I’ve been with Plante Moran since 1992, and I want to be an embodiment of the principles that attracted me to the firm. Around the office, I’m known for mentoring staff, and I’m proud of that.
The other relationships that keep me going are those with my family. I love spending time with my wife and two children, seeking new adventures, hiking, and exploring Northern Michigan.
I’m a member of the AICPA, the MICPA, LeadingAge Michigan, and the Health Care Association of Michigan. I received my B.S. in accounting from Michigan State University.
