I specialize in providing tax compliance, tax planning, and tax consulting services in the manufacturing and retail automotive dealership industries. My client base includes family-owned, owner-managed, and private equity-owned businesses.
The work I do extends beyond what you might think of when you hear “tax.” On any given day, you can find me advising clients on the related tax implications of their company’s structure, entity selection, transactions, and business succession.
Serving others is my strongest value, and what drives me is knowing I'm helping clients be successful. This career provides opportunities to not only serve clients but also staff and the community in a variety of ways.
In the more than 15 years I’ve been with the firm, I’m proud to have been involved in growing the practice, tax project management initiatives, recruiting, and staff development. Seeing staff whom I’ve recruited, worked with, and/or mentored over the years get promoted and succeed in their careers is extremely gratifying.
I have been asked over the years to speak to boards, clients, organizations, and at conferences on various tax topics, including annual tax planning and tax reform. I’m a member of the AICPA, the Michigan Association of CPAs, and the Women in Manufacturing (WiM) Western Michigan chapter. Currently, I’m a board member and treasurer of Safe Haven Ministries, and I’m a member of the Greater Grand Rapids 100+ Women Who Care. I received both my B.B.A. in accounting and finance and my M.S.T. from Grand Valley State University.
With many interests outside of work, I stay busy traveling, going to hockey and college football games, fishing, spending time at the lake, watching a good sunset, attending concerts and Broadway/theater shows, and doing remodeling projects around my house. I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. I have a German Shorthaired Pointer named Koda, so spending a lot of time outside is a must.
