I’m an ice hockey goalie, and I recently installed synthetic ice in my basement, which allows me to skate year-round.

Experience

I oversee the preparation of income tax returns for both businesses and individuals in the manufacturing, distribution, and service industries, working extensively with owner-managed companies and companies owned by private equity groups. I also assist clients active in merger and acquisition transactions by providing tax due diligence and structuring guidance.

My clients appreciate my hands-on, “roll-up-your-sleeves” approach to problem-solving and tax-saving strategies. Around the office, I’m known for being a hardworking, resourceful coworker with a passion for advising private equity-owned companies. While I’m easygoing at the office, I’m also incredibly competitive, especially during office trivia and broomball.

With nearly 15 years of experience, it’s hard for me to point to a single standout accomplishment, as I’ve worked with many amazing people who have helped me achieve so much. I took a nontraditional route by working full-time and taking care of a young family while earning my degrees and CPA license. It wasn’t always easy, but I’m proud to have accomplished so much professionally while maintaining a balance at home.

I’m a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the Detroit Economic Club, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. I often speak on tax matters at internal firm as well as industry events, presenting at many industry trainings hosted by the firm, such as PEG NextGen. In 2019 and 2020, I was recognized as a best-in-class tax technical colleague by our tax specialty groups.

I received my associate degree in business administration from Monroe County Community College, a B.S. in business administration from Siena Heights University, and an M.S. in accountancy from the University of Toledo, where I’ve remained active with its annual recruitment and mentorship programs.

When I’m not helping clients, I enjoy spending time at home or at the lake with my family and our two labradoodles. I also enjoy playing video games, hockey, and golf. When my daughter is cheerleading, you can find me on most Saturdays in the stands with the other “cheer dads.”
