As a leader in the Chicago Riverside office, I split my time between two industries. In the service industry, I work with clients spanning from technology and digital products companies to law firms and veterinary clinics. I also spend time within the financial services group where I’m the leader of the bank tax practice in Chicago. I work closely with my clients to understand their businesses, help them be tax-efficient, and assist them with their long-term goals whether that’s growing their business or planning for an exit.
Clients and colleagues appreciate that I’m approachable (having candy around helps!) and happy to discuss complicated tax issues in a way that’s easy to understand. I’m known for acting as a sounding board and am always willing to help others.
I’m one of the few female leaders within Chicago tax, and I’m a proud supporter of our internal Women in Leadership initiative. It’s important to me to assist other women as they grow and navigate through their careers, and to be a positive role model. Staff development is a large part of my role, including participating in recruiting events on and off campuses. This is a part of my job that I really enjoy!
With over 20 years of experience, my greatest accomplishment has been successfully progressing in my career as a single parent. I’m so proud of my son who recently graduated, and is embarking on his own career. I belong to the AICPA and the Illinois CPA Society. I received my B.A. in accounting from Michigan State University.
Outside of work, there’s so much I enjoy doing from spending time with friends to playing indoor volleyball. I travel often to both domestic and international destinations and am always ready to plan the next trip.
