Experience
As the leader of the firm’s energy industry group, I lead the strategic direction of the practice, building on a strong legacy while supporting continued growth and expanding the firm’s presence across the energy sector. I advise public, private equity-owned, and privately held businesses in the energy sector on tax matters relating to operations, acquisitions, and divestitures. I specialize in financial accounting, income tax provisions (ASC 740), mergers and acquisitions due diligence, and acquisition and divestiture transactions.
I bring an owner’s mindset to each client engagement, combining technical knowledge with practical, business-focused solutions. I focus on helping clients navigate the challenges of their operations and transactions with clarity and confidence. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to the growth of our energy practice and support the development of our people.
I’m a member of the AICPA, Colorado Society of CPAs, and the Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies. I’m also a board member of The Morgan Adams Foundation, a nonprofit that funds life-saving childhood cancer research. I graduated from the University of Denver with both by B.S. and M.S. in accounting. Given my expertise in the energy sector, I’m frequently asked to speak to clients, their boards, and at industry events about developments in tax law and their long-term financial impacts.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending my free time with my wife and two kids riding bikes, golfing, playing tennis, and traveling together.
