As the industry technical leader for the insurance industry, I consult with our engagement teams and clients on technical aspects that arise throughout the year and serve as a concurring reviewer for many of our more complex audit engagements. My clients include property and casualty carriers, life and health insurance companies, self-insured risk pools, and agencies. Over my career, I’ve worked with companies ranging from start-up insurers to publicly traded insurance companies. In the more than 20 years I’ve been in public accounting, I believe my greatest accomplishments are the relationships I’ve developed with others. I take great pride in coaching and mentoring a variety of people to help them grow both personally and professionally.
Since I’ve spent my entire career in the insurance industry, I often speak at industry conferences. I’ve also provided educational sessions to boards and audit committees on topics such as financial statement analysis, statutory accounting, enterprise risk management, cybersecurity, and fraud risk.
I’m a member of the Illinois CPA Society, the AICPA, the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association (IASA), and the Association of Governmental Risk Pools (AGRIP). I received my B.A. in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
I have three energetic children who keep me busy when I’m not at work. I enjoy attending all of their activities and watching them improve each year. When I have free time, look for me on the golf course. I’ve been playing since I was 5 years old, and am still searching for that elusive hole-in-one.
