My wife and I attend around 20 concerts a year and have seen at least 300 shows. We include our kids as well, bringing them to festivals including Telluride Bluegrass, Grand Targhee Bluegrass, and Strings and Sol in Mexico.

As leader of the firm’s retail dealership practice, I specialize in corporate and partnership taxation, including structuring, special allocations, and federal and state income tax planning. My clients include middle-market, privately held companies in the automotive, manufacturing (food and beverage), and financial services industries.

My goal is to explain technical tax issues in a way everyone can understand. My clients have many responsibilities on their respective plates, so I always aim to make their jobs easier, laying out all options so that the best course of action can be pursued. Having a positive attitude and being approachable and open to answering any questions has helped me develop long-term relationships with many clients.

In my role as office managing partner of Plante Moran’s Fort Collins, Colo. office, I’m responsible for overseeing growth initiatives, leading staff and practice development, and engaging in community outreach efforts. Around the office, I’m known for building genuine connections with others and my enthusiasm for trying new things.

I’m frequently asked to speak on tax trends at various industry and community events, and I’m a member of the AICPA and the Colorado Society of CPAs. I previously served as treasurer for ChildSafe Colorado, a great nonprofit that provides therapy for victims of sexual abuse. I received my B.S. in accounting from Mississippi State University and my M.S. in accounting from the University of Montana.

Outside the office, I enjoy traveling to see live music in different cities and venues all around the country. My favorite venues are Red Rocks Amphitheater and Madison Square Garden, and my favorite bands are Phish, Widespread Panic, and My Morning Jacket.
