I’m the firm’s tax leader for the service industry practice, and I specialize in serving clients in the professional services industry, franchise sector, and retail industry. As a consummate business partner to all of my clients, I specialize in tax planning, tax structuring, tax compliance, and general business consulting to help their organizations succeed and flourish.
From a young age, I knew I wanted to be an accountant. However, it wasn’t until I met the people at Plante Moran that I knew I wanted to work here. The culture of building relationships is so important to me, and in meeting the needs of my clients. What’s most rewarding for me is seeing my clients’ enthusiasm when I’m able to provide tangible tax-saving ideas. Knowing that they can take that additional capital and reinvest it in their people or their company to help it grow is one of the highlights of this career.
Another highlight is developing staff. Around the office, I’m known for being invested in the professional growth of everyone on my team. I’m genuinely invested in building the service industry team and developing future associates and managers.
With nearly 20 years of experience, I’m often asked to speak to clients, their boards, and to their shareholder meetings about tax planning, tax reform, and industry-related topics. I belong to the AICPA and the MICPA, and I hold a B.A. in accounting from Grand Valley State University.
When I’m not in the office or serving clients, I enjoy golf, hunting, and baseball. I try to spend as much time as possible with my family at our cottage in Southern Michigan.
