As a member of the firm’s energy tax practice and the Traverse City commercial practices group, I specialize in providing tax compliance, planning, and consulting services for both private equity-backed and closely held business owners.
I specialize in energy tax credits, business mergers and acquisitions, succession planning for family-owned businesses, corporate and business tax return planning, and like-kind exchange planning. I also help clients implement tax strategies and ideas.
The majority of my client base falls across the energy, real estate, and service industries. My clients appreciate that I’m always available and am very responsive. Around the office, I’m known for my dry sense of humor and wit.
With more than 13 years of experience, I’ve been asked to speak on tax matters in various settings. Recently, I presented at a Plante Moran webinar on the Inflation Reduction Act.
I’m a member of the AICPA, MICPA, MOGA (Michigan Oil & Gas Association) and vice president of the Michigan chapter of the Council of Petroleum Accountants Society. I’m also a board member of the Traverse City Kiwanis Club, a club that focuses on youth-based initiatives in the greater Traverse City area. I attended Central Michigan University where I earned a B.S. in business administration.
When I’m not working, you can find me on a boat, bike, or skis, depending on the time of year. My wife, two boys, and I enjoy spending our free time outdoors, exploring the many scenic locations northern Michigan has to offer.
