I specialize in providing assurance and management consulting services to a variety of not-for-profit organizations, including arts and cultural institutions, foundations, associations, social service organizations, and more. Additionally, I lead staff and talent development for our not-for-profit group, including training, recruiting, and retention.
Clients appreciate that I try to understand their operations, the people, and the landscape they operate in. I enjoy getting to know my clients’ “Why,” their strategic plans, and what the future holds. Around the office, I’m known for taking time for staff development and having fun. The firm’s greatest strength is our people and it shows in how we interact with — and treat — each other.
I was attracted to this career because of the variety it brings. I’m lucky to serve a variety of clients in different verticals with many different team members, and I’m always encountering new challenges. My greatest accomplishments at the firm are the milestones my team members hit as they progress in their careers. True success is when those on your team accomplish their goals and grow.
With nearly 15 years of experience, I’m often asked to speak with clients and their boards on risk management, internal controls, talent assessment and how their organizations are performing. Additionally, I’ve presented on external webinars, for MICPA presentations and various other not for profit industry-specific presentations. I’m a member of the AICPA and MICPA. I earned my B.S. with a focus on accounting from Wayne State University.
Outside of work, I spend my free time with my wife and two children. You can find us exploring Northern Michigan beaches, swimming in lakes, and enjoying ice cream.
