Angela Appleby appointed chair of AICPA’s IMTA IT executive committee

Angela Appleby has been appointed chair of the AICPA’s information management and technology assurance IT executive committee, where she’ll provide assistance and support to practitioners who provide technology advisory services.

We’re pleased to announce that Partner Angela Appleby has been appointed as chairperson of the AICPA’s Information Management and Technology Assurance (IMTA) IT Executive Committee (ITEC) beginning May 26, 2021, for a three-year term. As part of this volunteer role, Angela will lead the committee in promoting and increasing awareness of the relevance of information management and technology assurance in the accounting profession and demand for CPAs and others who provide these services. This will provide professionals with information, leadership, and advocacy that enables them to perform valuable information management and technology assurance services in the highest professional manner.

Angela, leader of our Denver cybersecurity practice, is an expert in various areas of cybersecurity, including SOX, SOC, and IT audit and compliance needs like HITRUST and PCI. She has more than 20 years of cybersecurity and IT audit experience, and is active in many industry associations. She’s also been a national instructor for the AICPA’s System and Organization Controls (SOC) School and a member of the AICPA’s Privacy Task Force. Most recently, she was chairperson of the newly created AICPA “Eye on Technology” Task Force that issues quarterly publications on hot topics in this space.
