I rarely order off restaurant menus. Instead, I have the server pick and ‘surprise me’ with the entire order (including sides!). I never send the order back and am always surprised with something I may have not ordered.

Experience

As a member of the firm’s healthcare team, I have over fifteen years of experience performing audits for community-based hospitals and large multihospital health systems. I also assist clients with new accounting implementations, reimbursement related projects, and bond issuances.

Early in my career, I discovered I genuinely enjoyed serving healthcare clients. The clients I interact with are relatable, professional, and driven to provide support for an organization that communities simply couldn’t survive without. Internally, I quickly noted that we have a world-class team that is technically proficient, always looking out for our client’s best interests, and is simply a fun group to be around. Both aspects attracted me to the industry, and I’ve never looked back.

I believe the key to my success is my ability to provide practical, real-world resolutions to client issues, my intense focus on the whole person (i.e., who my clients are outside of work), and my ability to add humor to any situation.

I often author thought leadership on recent accounting or regulatory trends and regularly speak to clients and at industry conferences on new accounting changes.

I belong to the AICPA, the Michigan Association of CPAs, and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), where I previously served as president for the Michigan Great Lakes Chapter. I received my B.S.B.A. in accounting from Central Michigan University, and have served on the Central Michigan University Alumni Board.

In my free time, I enjoy reading with my kids, playing in our backyard playset, working out, and golfing when I can find the time.
