I specialize in consulting with clients on tax credits and incentives, including the R&D tax credit and clean energy credits under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and helping clients to calculate and document their credits. While historically most of my R&D credit clients were in the M&D and technology spaces, working on energy credits has allowed me to expand that base to include new industries and exempt entities.
I’ve always enjoyed the analytical aspect of working with data, which initially drew me to a career in accounting. Since joining the firm, I’ve had great opportunities to consult with clients in relation to tax credits and help them translate that to tax savings that can be meaningful to their businesses. The best part of my role is getting to learn all about their development efforts and energy projects.
I came to the firm in 2015 after completing my master’s in accounting at Northern Illinois University. I earned my undergraduate degree in English and Women’s Studies at Elmhurst College. I also have an M.A. and Ph.D. in English literature from Northern Illinois University. I’m a member of the AICPA and the Illinois CPA Society.
Outside of the office, I’m a musical theatre enthusiast. I frequently attend performances around my home city, Chicago, and make several trips a year to New York to keep up with the Broadway and off-Broadway shows.
