Phillip Long joins Plante Moran’s cybersecurity practice

Plante Moran, one of the nation’s largest certified public accounting and business advisory firms, is pleased to announce that Phillip Long has joined the firm as a principal in its cybersecurity practice.

In this role, Long will lead a team of cybersecurity and information technology professionals while focusing on risk assessment and controls for these areas.

With more than 30 years’ experience in information systems security and information technology auditing, Long’s expertise includes IT strategic planning, risk assessment and disaster recovery management. He’s served clients in a wide variety of industries including health care, e-commerce, computer software, manufacturing and distribution, banking, government and retail.

Prior to joining Plante Moran, Long was a risk consulting senior manager with CHAN Healthcare, a subsidiary of Crowe Horwath International. His responsibilities included HIPAA Security risk assessments, CMS Meaningful Use readiness assessments, IT security and compliance audits, as well as assessing enterprise risks for healthcare systems, hospitals and providers.

Long holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Miami University in Ohio. He is also a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association and the Internal Auditor Association.
