Bethany Village is a nationally accredited, faith-based continuing care retirement community (CCRC) owned by Graceworks Lutheran Services. To maintain the exceptional continuum of care while keeping with the mission and vision of the organization, Graceworks engaged Plante Moran Living Forward™ (PMLF) to address its aging Bethany Village facilities and the feasibility of new construction. After determining which projects would be supported by the market, PMLF worked with Graceworks as the owner’s trusted advisor from concept through completion of the campus repositioning program.
In Phase I, PMLF helped Graceworks manage approximately 227,000 square feet of new construction and 103,000 square feet of renovation at nearly every campus facility. The projects included building a new independent living apartment building, 56-bed skilled nursing memory support building, and wellness center in addition to repositioning all independent living condos and completing extensive site work throughout the campus. The Phase I projects were completed on time and on budget thanks to the leadership and support of our team.
In Phase II, PMLF helped Graceworks manage approximately 135,000 square feet of new construction and additions over three years. The projects included a new 73-unit assisted living facility, an addition to the wellness center, renovation of the campus’s main kitchen and dining rooms, and others.
Through both phases of the campus repositioning program, Graceworks’ management team has been able to maintain its focus on the organization’s mission while demonstrating responsible stewardship of resources and facilities.
PMLF is currently engaged with Graceworks for the repositioning of its 11-story independent living building, Vista Place, helping manage approximately 50,000 square feet of new construction and additions over three years.
