Plante Moran Realpoint President Bill Lichwalla has been selected as one of Crain’s Detroit Business’s Notable Commercial Real Estate Leaders.

Plante Moran Realpoint President Bill Lichwalla has been selected as one of Crain’s Detroit Business’s Notable Commercial Real Estate Leaders. Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR), formerly Plante Moran Cresa, is the commercial real estate consulting affiliate of Plante Moran.

The honorees on this list are top executives and entrepreneurs who work with clients to buy, sell, lease, and rent multifamily properties and industrial, retail, and office space. They manage multimillion-dollar transactions and the development, redevelopment, construction, or property management of millions of square feet of space.

Since 2005, Bill has served as president of the firm, which provides fully integrated real estate services to corporate, mixed-use, healthcare, education, government, and investor clients. Under his leadership, the firm has grown to more than 125 multidisciplinary professionals in eight states and expanded its services to assist clients with complex real estate matters, including consulting, development advisory, tenant representation, owner’s representation for construction projects, and real estate investment.

This growth spurred exciting changes. In 2023, Bill led the launch of Plante Moran Realpoint, which combined the public sector and corporate real estate professionals of Plante Moran Cresa with the real estate investment specialists of Plante Moran REIA. This combination positions the entity for additional growth nationally over its next 30 years and aligns with Plante Moran’s growth in industries, services, and geography.

Bill has been directly involved in some of the most impactful real estate developments focused on revitalizing the City of Detroit, including Olympia Development of Michigan’s District Detroit and Little Caesars Arena and most recently the Future of Health by Henry Ford Health and its partners Michigan State University and The Detroit Pistons. These projects aim to improve the community not only by better connecting neighborhoods and creating jobs but additionally through apprenticeships in the skilled trades.

These accomplishments and more are highlighted in a special editorial feature. View the full list of 2024 Notable Leaders in Commercial Real Estate here.
