The challenge
Materialise is a Belgium-based multinational corporation that provides rapid prototyping and manufacturing, software solutions, clinical solutions, and consumer design products, with an overall focus on medical applications. The company was seeking to expand its presence in the United States and, in particular, sought a location close to the major medical research areas in Michigan.
The solution
Materialise engaged Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR), formerly Plante Moran Cresa, to assist in the search for a viable location. PMR not only helped with site selection, but also was able to procure a MEGA incentive from the state of Michigan.
With this incentive in hand, Materialise secured an advantageous lease on a 30,000-square-foot building in Plymouth, Michigan, located near Ann Arbor and Detroit and within driving distance of East Lansing and Grand Rapids.
